Chromebooks
A Chromebook is a laptop running Chrome OS as its operating system. The devices are designed to be used primarily while connected to the Internet, with most applications and data residing "in the cloud." There are many uses for a Chromebook in classrooms. Just to name a few…Improve students' writing using Google Docs, collect share and analyze data using Google Sheets, create amazing presentations using Google Presentation, invite a guess speaker into the classroom via video chat, create a classroom website, create student e-portfolios, and create student blogs with Blogger. The possibilities are endless!
iPads
iPads are a popular choice in classrooms across the nations…and for good reason. It is truly remarkable all the things you can do with them in a classroom: paint and draw, practice math skills, take or record classroom notes, save and edit images, create mind maps, make comics, create and collaborate with Google Docs, create digital stories, and much, much more! There are many math apps available for iPads that I can see myself using in my math classroom. The Khan Academy app, Geoboard app, and Algebra Solver app are a few that I believe actively engage students and enhance learning.
SmARt boards
The Smart Board interactive whiteboard operates as part of a system that includes the interactive whiteboard, a computer, a projector and whiteboarding software called Smart Notebook. The components are connected wirelessly or via USB or serial cables. A projector connected to the computer displays the desktop image on the interactive whiteboard. The whiteboard accepts touch input from a finger, pen or other solid object. Smart Board interactive whiteboards are also available as a front-projection flat-panel display – interactive surfaces that fit over plasma or LCD display panels.
I can definitely see myself using a SMART Board in my future math classroom. There are many math-related things you can do on a SMART Board and I believe that it would help my students be engaged and enhance their learning. Below you can see a few SMART Board Notebook pages I made for a probability lesson.
